Our client has several teams developing both front-end and back-end micro-se,rvices in multiple languages, all of which are dockerized and run using an industry leading orchestration framework. Ci/CD pipelines are in place to ensure that once code is pushed to the centralised code repository, it is built, tested, packaged and deployed automatically to the relevant environments. The aim of this role is to direct their security focus to be more proactive, by training developers to be aware of security vulnerabilities, identifying any security issues during the build pipeline, where possible, and bringing the vulnerability scanning of these applications in-house.

Responsibilties:
- Provide security expertise across all development teams
- Train developers to identify security issues during the build phase
- Attend team planning and reviews to ensure that security requirements are factored in
- Build out CI/CD processes to ensure proactive security scanning
- Research, evaluate and recommend technologies for building and operating secure applications
- Work closely with Group IT Security Team to ensure development teams are on the latest security standards.
- Ensure that we know what each other are doing and that we have secure solutions to new technology solutions/ideas
- BSc in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience required
- Software development background with at least one of the following: Java, Python, Scala, .NET
- CI/CD – build/deployment pipeline experience (Jenkins, Ansible, Gitlab)
- Familiarity with REST API design
- Container/orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Puppet, etc)
- Ability to communicate security risks in terms that can be clearly understood
- 5+ years in Information Security
