I do not seem to be able to detect a wireless LAN from XP SP1 to and from my N95. (Called home network on N95). The XP do not see any wireless facility and I cannot find drivers. Anyone knows reason why. Netgear support do not know.

A shot in the dark :-

1. Is the wireless LAN enabled and broadcasting on the router?
2. See 1 ..

I have the same router at home, but I am sitting at the office at the moment. The best I think of off the top of my head is the above - also, if it is broadcasting, make sure that it is actually broadcasting a SSID.

Once you can actually see the wireless connection, then the next steps kick in :-)

Just an afterthought, does your XP SP1 machine have a wireless card in it? Silly question, I know, but just making sure!

Thanx
Nope. XP is not broadcasting as it does not see a wireless device and the PC have no installed wireless card. It is connected to the wireless capable router via Ethernet. You should then be able to access this main base PC with any wireless LAN capable device like an notebook or other, not? Thats why you buy a wireless capable router?
What bothers me that there is no drivers for it. Thus the Netgear seems to be incompatible wit a wireless network per se'. Therefore my question.

The wireless access point to Internet is working fine as I am broadcasting a SSID from the DG834GT wireless router. My N95 access the Internet via the wireless router Ok. But I cannot see the home Network or rather PC from the N95

Ah, OK. Sorry, misunderstood the question! Now there I can't help directly - don't have a N95. I thought you couldn't wirelessly connect to the router at all, but you say you are browsing the Internet using it.

I suppose the normal questions would apply like
1. Is the Nokia N95 able to browse network shares at all? ie, is this a feature that should be possible using the phone in general? What does the manual say about it?
2. Is the PC set up to share its resources? Sharing enabled and so on?
3. Is the N95 and PC set to the same network workgroup?

Unfortunately, I don't know the specifics but maybe it triggers something!

1 Yes
2 Yes
3 Yes

No, no trigger. Thanx
