Hi , bit stuck on getting IP adresses from my internal DHCP server when connecting to the 5102G via Wireles.
Problem started when my Linksys access point went belly up.
So I decided rather than replace it I should use the 5102G's wireless capability which I had up till then had disabled.
My configuration has all wired workstations (3) connecting to a Switch. The no defunct LinkSys access point plus the 5102G are connected to the same switch. There are 2 Mobile users who connect Wirelessly from their lap tops. There is a separate DHCP server (also a file server). This has worked great up until the Linksys box died.

I acticvated teh Wireless connectivity on the 5102G and set teh DHCP option to Relay and provided teh DHCP servers address. Now from a laptop I can connect wirelessly to the 5102G, but it am unable to get a DHCP assigned IP address. This seems to be the only option available unless I make the 5102 the DHCP server which I am not so keen to do.
So I am now a bit stuck
Any advice? Please !

Normally a DHCP server holds dns records and when a new connection is made to the network the dns server will dish out all the relevant dns addresses via dhcp. Ive never used that router before but whatever that dhcp relay is it doesnt sound too good. Id rather turn it off leaving the router with a static ip and thats that. Tell the server which the default gateway is. Regarding the wireless machines, a wireless machine wont be assigned an ip address until the correct wireless network password is entered correctly or the mac address of the laptop is verified if you have access control on.
