Diablo 2

Busy installing it, and will try it online for the first time ever. Can anyone give me some tips? Havent played it in at least 5 years, so unsure what classes is worth it.

OPTION 1
Well, I'm playing on a server called "Apocalypse Realm"-The site is "www.diablo2apoc.com" and they have two realms, Apocalypse Realm and Chaos Realm which you can download on the site. I play there because there are few people-about 500 and the high levels are always willing to help, rush beginners. The Apocalypse and the Chaos Realm both have many custom items, skills, levels, etc. You can only start playing on the Chaos Realm after you have been playing for 3 months. And unfortunately this server is in Australia, so the response time is quite slow...But it's great.

OPTION 2
Gosu is a South African server so the response time should be fast but I hear that there are very few people that play on that server. But maybe check it out.

OPTION 3
DST/MSD realm-"www.dstmsdrealm.com" is the 3rd option. I haven't played here yet but I looked at the modifications and it sound great!!! If it works that is...as I havn't got it to work yet... But I think the coolest thing about this realm is that you can go up to level 255.

Overall I would recommend the Apocalypse Realm by far...If you would like to set up an account there go to "www.diablo2realms.com", then go to "Forum", then go to "Apocalypse Player Account Application", And then follow the instructions...

I presume you're playing on the realms.

I thus recommend that you join USEast, because that's where I play.

Other than that, seeing as there was just a ladder reset, and most of the people I know jumped onto the ladder, I'd recommend that you start with a sorceress.

Ok, everyone and their dog has a sorc atm because they can kill reasonably well without decent gear. A second option in this regard is a necromancer.

So I'd suggest you start with a frozen orb/lightning sorc, or a bone necromancer or a summoning necromancer.

Otherwise there's a variety of builds including but not limited to : javazon, bowazon, IK barb (maul barb using Immortal King armour), Frenzy barb, hammerdin, zeal paladin, smitedin, meteor sorc, blizzard sorc, light sorc (stay away from these until you can afford an infinity polearm), bonemancer, summoner, trap assassin, and elemental druid. You *do* still get shapeshifters but they're rare and require ridiculously expensive gear to be viable.
