Hey all

i have 1mb uncapped with mweb last night when i got home from work i was finaly able to get into the game latency was great 235ms etc then middle of evening started spiking to 400ms+ sometimes 700ms, tonight i am getting between 350-400ms which doesnt sound right to me considering i had 253ms this morning when i logged in.

anyone else experiencing this?

Kind regards

I think the biggest problem for us is, our timezone is very much even with quite a big part of EU, which means when we want to play, so will they.

I played about 1PM and had great latency of about 200-250 with a spike or 2 caused by my own internet usage.

then I played again later with latency of about 400 and yet it was still very much playable.

420 is playable... in single mode.

Not sure what that means for multiplayer

It's playable but rather frustrating. With my barbarian when he hits and the monsters fly back only a moment later, it's not that great.

Well im not on mweb I got myself a prepaid 2 gig saix unshapped account for Diablo 3 from digiserv http://www.digiserv.biz/ I played by myself for awhile after work
no problem then later on I joined my friend who has Iburst. In the begining it was fine but later the night
I also started to get bad spikes.Dammit I always forget to look at my ping:erm:

Last night I had a ping 500 to 1000, yet could ping 186ms to BBC.co.uk.

This morning I log on and get a ping of 200ms.

It's obvious the lag is caused by over subscribed servers.

I suspect this is because of load on the servers more than connection to UK. Tested with 3 different ISPs at the same time, one uncapped and 2 capped. All were sitting at ~400-350ms.

But its still very playable, you only need to worry when you start breaking the 500ms.

This weekend should be better as play times start to spread out and the servers take less load.

I have a mate in england and one in netherlands. Both were complaining of latency over 200ms last night, so yeah, deffo a problem on blizz side rather than our connections.

thank goodness i saw this thread... got my game yesterday and installed it when i saw 400+ ms was freaking out considering the day before saw guys with 200-250ms. Single player i will admit it is still fine to play even at 700ms which mine was doing as well. I tried both Mweb and IS uncapped accounts and they both did the exact same. Blizz should have made a better plan because they of all companies should have been prepared for the amount of players that were gonna play D3.

They knew this was going to be an issue...

Hopefully the amount of people who purchased the game in SA will be enough to justify some kind of authentication server in SA.

+1 to this. But the question is how do you convince blizz to do this?

They day before yesterday it was at 200ms and last night it was at 400ms for me.

I assume the servers are located in US and not in EU?

it would be lekker if we could get a BattlePing or WTFFast type proxy for this, even if its just for authentication.

For those of you who don't read gaming/tech sites:

The servers are getting hammered during peak hours (6pm to 12am) so expected high latencies.

latency has been good for me i avarage around 200ms - 300ms with 4 players

think we need to start getting petitions signed to an ISP like Mweb to host a server locally.

They will have to sort that out, euro players who are used to 30ms all of a sudden getting 230ms+ latency wont sit well.

This must be some sort of temp fix because when I played on day 1 the latency was in the lower 200's, yesterday mid 400's. The servers must be suffering.
