Hi guys,

Recently started a new character (wizard) and would like for those who have played the class to share their view mostly as follows:

What works for you in terms of stat building, Intel, Vitality ect?
What skills are working best for you?

All in all this is a basic discussion on the Wizard class.

Lets see what we can all share :D

I am getting my backside handed to me in Inferno

43000 HP
7000 Armor
13000 DPS buffed

Its a fine balance between doing enough damage and being able to survive long enough.

chamberz - you're starting out right? Just go int int int all the way, with some vit when you are feeling too squishy. And rubies into socketed weapons adds lots of damage in the early levels

rakabos - class? Looks like a sword and board barb, if so, if you have 500 resist as well I'd say you are good to go. DPS is a bit low, but its very doable for Act 1

I have a solid helm with a socket but have yet to find a ruby or something to insert. Just started out yeah, busy act 2 atm. When do you start coming across rubys?

ive got a wizard -

44000 HP
whats this -- Armor
17400 DPS buffed (i could also double buff using the slow time rune -- fracture i think then i get 20K+ dps)

i mainly concentrated every piece of armour and weapon on intell and vitality -- everything else was by the way.
as game went on i continued to up intell and vitality while looking at resistance to everything...
im doing ok in inferno -- almost done with act 1 - though my style of play might be different from most.

edit : also note i have a mix of yellow and blue items -- some level 60 blues are better than yellows from what ive picked up or got at bargain in AH. Zero legendaries unfortunately. most ive spent on a single item in AH so far 100,000 gold.

Will do, when i get home. Too low? Stupid glass canon

Armour way too high, DPS way too low. I'd aim for 30k HP, 3k armour, 25k DPS (unbuffed). Anyway, show us your stats when you get home and then we can go from there

I think gems start dropping in... act 3? Not sure anymore. Else I can give you a few to get started, you will be a bit overpowered though :p

:erm:

I am not sure if I am doing it wrong

DPS: 29k
Armour: 5k
HP: 25k
Resists: 390-550

The wizard can not tank so in effect it becomes VERY hard to play in Inferno without a tank or something to at least give you a second or three to unleash some form of damage.

I follow the co-op route in inferno and do what wizards do best, be a glass canon :D

My current stats:
40k HP
4.2k Armor
35k DPS fully buffed <- FU Blizzard for nerfing IAS, was over 50k before the nerf
Resists are all between 960 and 1109 - Roughly 77% damage reduction.

Buffs:
Familiar - Sparkflint
Energy Armor - Prismatic Armor
Magic Weapon - Force Weapon

Passives:
Glass Cannon
Blur
Galvanizing Ward

Act 3 and 4 elites will hand my ass to me if I'm not extremely careful.
