So this friend runs two projectors and a PC screen of a single VGA port and runs his main PC screen of the other VGA port.
He has a G210 card.
Now here's the problem, while running the system for some unknown reason the system will reboot or it will stay on but the displays will go off. I've checked the CPU temp and all 4 cores seem fine.

So am I correct in thinking he needs to upgrade his graphics card?

Check consistency of power supply voltages.

It is unlikely the card will bork out for no reason, and even so that wouldn't cause a reset.

An issue with the PSU, however, would.

He had a UPS running, could that be the cause? How big of a PSU should he replace it with, it's a core2 quad if I remember and 2gb of RAM with that G210 card.

Yeah, doesn't sound like a GPU issue. The GT210 is pretty solid for anything short of midrange gaming. Desktop use, you shouldn't even need to attach the cooling fan.

Possible but unlikely...

Generally UPS issues occur if the buyer is an idiot and gets something not spec'd for SA power grid. Beyond that...unlikely.

edit...are all 4 flippin display devices and the box on this UPS?

Nope just the box and the main display

It all depends on how he is splitting the signal from the one VGA port. Is he just using a standard 1 - 2 VGA splitter cable

http://www.hdcabling.co.za/video-sp...-female-pc-to-monitors-gold-plated-p-129.html

- then looping the projectors via their VGA out & VGA IN sockets in a daisy chain - or is he using one of these powered splitters to distribute the VGA signal as required?

Something similar to that powered one.

I had a similar issue when I overloaded a UPS. Generally most UPS's can only take one PC and one screen.

Take all the Screens off the UPS. Might need a new PSU as well but an overloaded UPS will cause things like that to happen.

Only the PC and main display is on the UPS.
