Hello.

I have an 8mbps (Faster Plus) adsl line from Telkom. It was running close to that for a few weeks, but recently it's only around 4.3mbps. No one at Telkom seems to be able to resolve the issue. All my faults logged gets resolved without anyone contacting me. I've done several port resets, with no resolution.

This is the settings on my router:

ADSL Mode G992.5
Up Stream 764 kbps
Down Stream 5119 kbps
Attenuation Down Stream(db) 33
Attenuation Up Stream(db) 20
SNR Margin Down Stream(db) 19.2
SNR Margin Up Stream(db) 15.5
Attainable Down Rate 12028 kbps
Attainable Up Rate 1128 kbps

CRC Errors 0
Up Stream BER 82953e-7
Down Stream BER 0e-7
Up Output Power 12.5
Down Output Power 20
Down Stream ES 7
Up Stream ES 4294967291
Down Stream SES 7
Up Stream SES 0
Down Stream UAS 172
Up Stream UAS 4294967018

So I don't understand why I shouldn't get 8mbps:confused::confused:

I've tried my adsl line with and without the filter - there's no difference.

Any other advice?

Get a 1GB capped account for free from Afrihost/axxess/CrystalWeb and see what speed you get then.

Thanks :D

Will give it a go.

Check your filter too. Better to be sure. Test noise with no filter plugged in then with filter plugged in. If it's the same it's a line fault and Telkom needs to sort it out.
