Please help out on this.

The past week-end I used my parents dial-up network to download a 600Meg file (I know it's stupid).

It's a 0860 Pop number registered on the site, only used the line in Callmore time and they do have Closer 2.

Not one of the calls exceeded 1hr all around 50min, however it was basically dial-up 50min download disconnenct...dial-up 50min download disconnenct...dial-up 50min download disconnenct...dial-up 50min download disconnenct...dial-up 50min download disconnenct...
for the WHOLE week-end, no i want to know, will i get charged for these calls or not.

I find some of the webpages where i searched for info very confusing.

If I do get charged, what can I expect!

Thanks people :)

I guess you will be charged for each call. Last time I used dialup was with the R7 call thing and that was pretty sweet. Managed to download 1GB per weekend :p

Yes you will get charged. The Telkom closer plans free minutes don't include internet access (dialup numbers).

If you had the Internet addon (@ R150pm addiotional) on the closer planer you wouldn't have been charged.

You get charged 20-odd cents per minute during off-peak periods... assuming you get 5KBps... the bill would be around R409.60.....

I thought they had changed dial-up accounts to broadband?

WEEE-URGHHHH, WEEE-URGHHHH, WEEEEE-URGHHHH....

How can you not love the sound that a modem makes when it dials-up to the internet....

Passionate about the internet... or how does it go??:D
