I recently purchased a PPDB from Vodacom but am using a MTN E620 Data card, can someone please guide me on seeting up the data card to establish a connection, i get a message which says failed to connect - i know the MTN number is *99#, is it different for Vodacom?

do I need to change the settings on my dashboard as i assume it currently has the settings for MTN or is there a place I can download a Vodacom dashboard?

Thank you - downloading software now, if it works and my signal is strong Vodacom will gain an extra R500-00 per month. Strange my signal is bad because I am in the middle of Sandton in Morningside.

still cant connect, i get an error 619 - could my mtn data card possibly be network locked?

MTN do not lock their cards, I use a MTN E620 with VC no problem. I even use the MTN dashboard software :eek:

Here's how :

Open the F@stlink program, Click on Settings
Click on the Connections tab and then click on the New button
Call the new connection VC (or whatever)
Number : *99#
Username and Password empty
APN : internet
Click on save.

Return to the main screen. Choose the profile you just created under the Profile drop-down list.

Click Connect and off you go.

Regards,

JJF.

@davidwza,

check the last post for settings (note the APN: internet). i think you also gotta activate gprs on the vc sim card.
