Dialing sound in pc speakers

For the past 1½ years I am using Cellc’s Giga200 in a Huawei modem and router. I am living on the hill and have no problems connection wise. Rebooting the modem and picking up another IP always helps if there nothing comes through. The inconvenience which drives me mad is another:

Periodically (many times a day) I hear that dialing sound in my pc speakers, sometimes it sounds even like I hear a strange microphone, like someone else is connected. Is this a known Cell-C problem/other users leaking through?

It has definitely nothing to do with my pc or setup, because if I switch off the pc and leave the power on at the speakers, the sound continues!

Speakers always pick up GSM cellular chatter, whether it is a phone, modem, dongle etc. About the only thing I can suggest is to move the speaker cables away from the modem by at least 60 cm or more if possible. This includes DC power cables.

As an example, take your cell phone, stick it on top of the speaker cables and send an SMS. You'll hear similar noises.

Also, try switching your modem to 3G-only mode.

Thank you guys. I moved modem + router away as far as possible (as long as the cables are) and the noises stopped indeed. Stupid me, but the noises were totally different to the ones my cellphone makes.
