Dialup computer hanging

On a dialup connection on this computer, it connects fine, and then after a minute no matter what one is doing (checking email, browsing web) the computer(including mouse) freezes and nothing can be done except for restarting.

What can be causing this?

well its not the dialup , does it freeze when doing other tasks ?

Check for errors in event viewer.

I will also hang myself if I had to use dialup

No it only freezes after it has dialed up.
