DICE could “kill” ARMA with mod tools

People are obsessed with game x killers. We don't need game x killers we just need great games.

You know, Dean Hall is a complete moron. ArmA and BF are two completely different types of games. There's no way a twitch shooter is going to kill a military sim just by releasing mod tools. The audiences buy these two games for wildly different reasons.

Agreed:
A "perfect" game, being "perfect" at everything is myth. You get a game that is good at what it is not being good at everything.

BUT of course the article is a bait article, a shade of the good stuff azumith used to write over at mygaming. When I see Jeremy Proome I see tabloid, bait and sensationalism.

It's quite a bit more than a "twitch shooter", but I do agree with your point that there are different audiences for both games. However, I'm an example of someone who plays both and I enjoy them for different reasons.

That said, if DICE were to release mod tools and something to the effect of Project Reality for BF4 were released, along with similar mods to that found in ARMA, I'd probably gravitate more towards that (though the open-world environment and ability to go anywhere and do anything would probably not be matched). DICE aren't going to release mod tools in all likelihood so...
