Did Cell C deactivate Vodacom roaming on my sim?

And does roaming on Vodacom work where you are now?

Why are you asking?
My co worker lives on a farm in wallmanhal/roodeplaat north of pta.
He's also been on cell c for a few years and it used to roam constantly, now nothing.

Now I am in centurion close to John Vorster off ramp; tried just now and it does not roam on Vodacom.
We have crap cell c signal in the office, so I put my phone and a colleague's vodacom phone under my desk.
My phone looses all reception but does not roam, he still has 4 bars vodacom signal.

i have forced my phone to register with Vodacoms network.
that way i dont miss as many business calls

I noticed today I can no longer roam on Vodacom?

I keep getting "Your SIM Card does not allow access to this network"

However I could roam on Vodacom Yesterday and for the last 5 years in fact.

Has Vodacom kicked Cell C subs off their network?

My Mom, Dad, Brother and myself as well as all my staff on Cell C can't roam either....

I know that in CT CBD, you can't roam on Vodacom, but can in Bellville. Seems to be area dependant.

I noticed I had the issue too. I turned my phone to 2G only and I was able to select the Vodacom network.

Not sure if it's the same problem, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Same here...cant roam on vodacom for data when no cell c....where is cell c rep to explain?

Very unhappy due im in upington...and anywhere outside upt their no cell c till u in next town....so no communication to anyone if u get car trouble.

Thanks , location in which i cannot roam is Stanger / Kwadukuza, KZN . Is it only limited to 2G or can i go full out ?

Edit: Tried forcing 2G only and it connects as per above :/. What i would like to know again is, is this normal behaviour or should i be able to roam on 3G? I see customers having this issue as far back as 2012?

Was searching for a problem similar to mine and found this thread - Since about July data roaming on vodacom has stopped completely. This seemed to happen after I came back from overseas and had a bit of a debacle with switching roaming on and off. I'm in the Joburg, Bryanston area.
Hopefully I can pick up some tips how to get this working again as I work in a complete cellc deadzone.
