Simply put, did the myADSL forum have any influence on your decision to go with iBurst (or not)?

If so, how?

Yep, been with sentech for over two years, now they changed their services I signed with iburst (Saturday), modem delivered this morning.

Can't remember but I imagine I had a look see here before taking the plunge.

I remember having a good look through this forum (it was a sub-forum back then) before getting all excited and phoning iBurst. :D

myADSL forum actually nearly persuaded me not to.

iburst does not get many good reviews on this forum but it is fantastic for what I needed... So I looked at the forum and went against what they said.

I am glad I did...

I also checked out this forum before I took the plunge (Jan '05). Very useful to know how others experience a service otherwise you don't know whether you are getting your money's worth. Those were in the heady pre-launch days of unlimited bandwdith.

Hi noswal, welcome to the Iburst forum. Hope the experience is a good one.

i simply had no choice. iBurst was the only one that had the slightest hint of signal im my area.

and the body corporate for my complex does not want Telkom lines installed

Sentech is gonna lose alot of customers.. Cause i think ppl can live with a Wireless 10gig/20gig service. But pay per meg?? for Wireless.. sounds dodgy.

Its not as if they give nice pings/ nice stability connection..

In that case, welcome to our new (ex-Sentech) iBurst customers. Emergency exits are here, here, here and here. Please obey the safety warning lights, and enjoy your flight. Once again, thank you for flying iBurst... ;)

Everything I know about iBurst came from this site. Only ever went to the website to check coverage maps.

I also was on here for quite a while before I got Iburst. It did help me choose, I jst got to learn everything about it, Im not shurew how much it influenced me.

The reviews were varied, I dont think nearly everythin is bad about iburst around here, its just that people usualy post to complain, and the fact that it works most of the time (unlike sentech it seems) goes a bit unnoticed.

I found out about the iburst trial on these forums and hooked up before the 'I wanna be like Hellkom' caps started. iBurst was magnificent at the start, no caps, no shaping - was great, but they sold out and now offer the same trash as everyone else with added bad latency and declining speeds. Worst of all is that they haven't changed their packages in ages.

Partly - I saw how quickly a colleague of mine got his modem and set up, and used his modem to test signal in my area. I did do a double check on the forums to see if there were any big problems I was overlooking.

In the end, I went with iBurst - mainly because oif the flexibility of having a month to month contract, with carry-over additional bundles if need be
