So I got mugged by two ****s and my phone was stolen. 2 days later I go to the Vodasuck shop and buy a new SIM card then got my old number swapped. They said it would take 24 hours to reactivate, but I tried using it 7-8 hours later and it worked, everything seemed normal and I was glad to have my number back.
I didn't realize until this afternoon after calling customer care that the last 2 digits of my number had changed from 05 to 75 overnight. Anybody who tried calling my original number would be told that my mailbox is full and the call was ended. The lady said that the SIM card was already activated and that I need to go out and buy a new SIM card, all because some moron at Vodacom messed up.
I'm wondering though how my cellphone worked with my original 05 number the night before, but the next day the number changes to 75, even though it was already activated. I also now have to enter a PIN number every time I turn on my phone, is this normal? I also got text messages from a train station giving updated train times, so this number must have belonged to some person who very well might have missed a train due to this mistake.
Thanks for any help
