I ****ing hate steam, useless crap, update every bloody day almost, which ****s everything up. Steam has stopped responding wait 15mins, finally, start TF2 play for few hours, TF2 has crashed, which happens all the time Ping at 900ms with nothing downloading, close steam , close tf2, start steam, steam has stopped responding wait 15mins, start tf2, validating steam cache files, 100% wait...wait...wait..wait never ****ing finishes. EVER, cant play anymore.

Ill blame telkom but steam steam needs to sort their **** out.

I have more issues now than before, especially with TF2. I'm currently using WinXP, maybe that has something to do with it.

I assume you're on a 384 line or using 3G/HSDPA/whatever?

Atleast I dnt crash or dc while playing dota :) startup takes forever tho :/

I love Steam. Can't remember the last time I had an issue. Amazing specials, Skyrim mods, automatic updating, easy deleting and redownloading of game files, attractive game hub etc. I won't buy a PC game these days unless it will use Steam. I'm using Windows 7 and Mweb's 4mb shaped uncapped.

Steam I won't lie, sucked in SA. The load up times was too much, however overseas where they have real broadband, its honestly not an issue.

Don't blame Steam, its South Africa's broadband infrastructure

Yip 384, plus having to download 3gb almost everytime theres an update because something breaks. So many threads on the steam forums of this problem yet no fixes, except redownloading the whole game, good luck with that in SA.

Another 168mb update for TF2, or it's redownloading it again *facepalm*

I only recently uninstalled TF2, and never noticed any bugs before that. Your line speed would have made updates a bigger deal - 4mb can download168mb in 6-7 minutes.

1. Your pc needs a format.

2. Upgrade your dsl line to something faster.

Totally agree with the above.

Back when I had 384k, yes updates were annoying in their frequency and use of cap.

Got 4 meg capped. Got annoyed by use of cap.

Got 4 meg uncapped. Oh, 1.5 gig update? Sure. 30 minutes later update is done.

I have never had any issues with steam, i think this goes down to the user!

Steam is great if you have 4mb line and uncapped. otherwise it's really crap.

I have three kids on steam... and at least one of them is doing a major update --- 9 Gb or so at any given time of the day! :(
