How is the power on that Bakkie , do you get smoke when driving , it could be injectors are over feeding .

Then you have to take it for a diagnose , I still believe 40 liters to give you those km's it's still high in consumption .

On Saturday I drove from Soweto to Witbank and back with R300 diesel , that's 18 ltrs .

Also if it does have a EGR valve that should be cleaned if it's dirty fouled up it will effect performance of the Turbo, engine power will be poor and fuel ecomony.

all things being equal, diesels are more expensive to maintain in the long run.

And if something engine-related breaks, you will have a big hole in your bank account
