I'm looking at purchasing a Seagate Barracuda HDD around the 120GB to 200GB size. What is the difference between 7200.9 and 7200.10????

Cheers,

Thorin

7200.10 uses the new perpendicular recording technology which basically allowes for higher density storage.

The above answers are not entirely correct.

The 7200.9's feature 'low profile height' so they're basically a bit thinner than normal hard-drives. They also sport perpendicular recording (same as 7200.10's)

These (7200.9's and 7200.10's) drives are awesome because the increased data-density gives you greater sustained read-write speeds and they have SATA II and NCQ .
