Differences in amounts charged

Yesterday I received my statement for the total of R16.89 telling me that if I paid by Thursday I only have to pay R6.76.

Today I received the invoice for the transaction that was on the statement. Again the princely sum of R16.89 but this time the discounted amount was R6.89.

I wonder whose pocket the 13c was supposed to go to? Or was my statement done by a Tannie and the invoice by a rooinek?

But let's just say that it also seems to be a work of fiction without any correlation to any amounts mentioned previously.
