Someone good at calculating bytes/bits (I suck at it ) just please work this out for me... how much b/w would...

24/7 connectivity to one IRC server, MSN, Skype and Yahoo! use? Base it on what you would consider an average amount of chatting per day.

Tryna work out if a 3Gb account would last me Anyone know of an ISP that offers a 3Gb (4 if possible) where after cap your speeds are just throttled to 64kb or something along those lines other then the measly Telkom 1k shared line

I dont know about how much you would use, but.. you can't get an ISP that is throttled to 64kb after cap (afaik). What you can do though is get NukeCap, which is a proxy service run by Clipse. http://www.nukecap.co.za/. I think its about R200. You will still have to pay your ISP fee though. I haven't had any experience with NukeCap so im not sure how it is.

You could also get a 10gb account from Axxess (R379). Or 4gb from Imaginet (R299). Check their sites for more packages, I just listed the cheaper ones. I'm currently using the 4gb from Imaginet, really good.

Yeah thanx.... gonna take a look quickly at the Imaginet one. I think what I might do is a get a 3Gb account, and then if I need more, that Imaginet 4Gb one is my next option...
