Hey guys,

I am close to upgrading time and am currently more than happy with my SGS2, but there is one thing lacking for me on it and on most of the android phones I have used so far.

The SGS2 and other android devices thread sms's by contact number. So say you have a contact with 2 numbers, the sms's will be in seperate threads and you can't merge it with any app.

I know the HTC's before Sense 3.0 could do this, I don't know if it can do it still. I also think the iPhone merge the thread for the same contact.

What other phones can do this? This is a big problem for me, because some of my contacts has 20+ different numbers and I want to look through it chronologically and not hop out of each thread every now and then.

Do you guys know of any new phones that has this feature? Anything spec'ed above the S2 will be considered for my new phone. I am not really biased towards any phone, although I have invested a few apps in android - but that doesn't matter all that much.

Thanks

Running iOS 5 on an iPhone 4 and I have seperate threads for the same contact. The contacts are synched from Exchange; it might handle phone contacts differently?

How is your contacts organized in your phone book? One contact per number or different contact number under one name, eg. work1, work2, home? If it's the latter it should thread everything under one contact. Was like this on my HTC, so I guess any Android device.

one contact - different numbers underneath it like work, mobile 1, mobile 2 etc. I know Sense 2.1 did the threading per contact in the older HTC phones, but I think it changed now with the new releases.

Download and try different message apps, that's the nice thing about droids.

Finally found a messaging app that allowed this. Contacts+ is currently the only messaging app I found that does this.
