Different Socket Types

Is one better than another?
More future proof or some other reason for getting it?

I see a 1150, 1155 and 2011

1150 is Haswell and it is the latest.

Read up on this:

And the chipset provides more than the older chipsets of 1155...obviously.

Socket 1150 (Haswell) is the latest consumer socket, where as Socket 2011 is the high-end or server socket.

So if you want to have 6+ cores and 64GB of RAM, then you need to go with the Socket 2011.

None are future proof...intel wants to sell more gear so they cycle the sockets.
