Can anyone help me understand this?
I "upgraded" my contract from a Huawei P30 Lite to a Samsung Galaxy A33.
When I run the speedtest app on the phones one after another my old Huawei gives me about 30Mbps on our LTE home network which is what I always got but the new A33 won't get more then 8Mbps and I also get a lot of lag on videos. Not just once but all the time. Cellular data is turned off on both phones.
If I test via my desktop PC connected to the same home network I get 30Mbps.

Perhaps the Battery Saver function is currently enabled on the Samsung?

Perhaps the one phone connects to the router's 2.4GHz band while the other connects to the router's 5GHz band?

(Or perhaps the Samsung does not have MIMO antennas in it and the Huawei does have them?)

Thanks for the response. I had disabled the 5G on the router so they both connect to the same SSID and no battery savers are on. Only difference between the 2 is the old phone is Android10 and the new phone is 13

So make sure the speedtest server is always the same some will use other networks capacity.

This being said my fathers Huawei generally outperforms mine on a 2.4GHZ network, i have a Samsung a71 vs his phone which is a cheaper older Huawei.

My device runs our 100/100 fibre perfect on our 5GHZ Wifi where his phone is only 2.4GHz. On LTE via MTN my phone also goes up to about 150 on a speedtest so only thing i can think of is maybe chipset is better off running newer technology than older...

He gets 50/50 on 2.4GHZ where i get about 30/30

Not sure if this will help, I just ran a speed test on my mom's A33 on wifi using Fibre, got 52meg down and 53meg up on 2.4GHz.
