Hey guys,

I have a VDSL line at home that syncs at 20mb, but barely. Also running an ASUS Modem. A buddy of mine recently "upgraded" from an ASUS VDSL router to a Netgear and to his amazement his line stats increased considerably

Asus - Which had a hard time getting decent rates

VS
Netgear - Same line

Are we missing something obvious here?

EDIT: ok, his line is ADSL here but the question still stands. Whats accounting for such a difference. Im pretty desperate for a stronger connection at home

Read my thread about different modems and chipsets which can influence your adsl speeds. very important to note that you must choose a router with a specific chipset depending how far you are from the Exchange/DSLAM.
