Digg Corrupted

so you write an article and the people decide whether or not it gets published right?
is there a point to it aswell?:confused:
 
Very interesting read there - however it's not that surprising. Name me one site that doesn't employ editorial controls yet covers news?

LOL! :D. Except that he doesn't write news himself - he gets them news sources that employ editorial control ;).

Ajax does a summary in a non-PC way which is great! :)

Their big claim over a site like say slashdot is that they don't have any editorial control and it is all supposedly user generated content but as this article points out it seems that Kevin and a certain clicque of users on that site opinions are considered to be more "digg worthy" than the other thousands of plebs.

Also the banning of linking to other websites that has negative reporting on digg just leaves me with a dislike.

Lets just assume for awhile, that I do not know everything (I know its a stretch but lets try).... Uhm whats a Digg? I started reading the article and every third word was Digg, kinda made my head hurt so I minimised the article and maximised the FHM site ......mmmmmmmm head feeling better now

Uhm I would really have to say, it does not matter one bit. I feel the fhm is a very informative magazine. The best article ever was one how to hide a body without it being discovered
 
You should really get to know your facts straight, listen to the Twit podcast as it explains everthing - but basically the fact the Kevin Rose dugg both stories in possition 27th or something was just a co-incidence and secondaly some sites being banned is just part of their elaborate anit-spam system ... which is actually a pretty cool one ....

I listened to the TWIT and his explanation that the "spammers" were on his friends list and hence him digging both stories on A List Apart exactly at position 17 ... coincidence ??? ... still not convinced.

Also why would these spammers wait for months holding on to legitimate Digg accounts and go through all the effort of building up credibility or get a good karma score on a site like Digg just for one time effort on page views ???.

Does not make sense to me as there are far easier ways.

Let's just say I am rather sceptical about this whole thing.
