Have setup some torrents to download and left it overnight. the torrents had loads of seeds. checked this morning and nothing downloaded. My question is what settings should I have setup .
I have opened the port on my router and get the green tick in the lower panel.
What are the best bandwidth allocations?

uTorrent is great but not with Dc it seems. It does work fine but it seems Bitcomet works better at times. I only allow 1 torrent download at a time with a max 1kB/s upload while downloading and I always set Bandwidth Allocation to High. Make sure you download and use peerblock too.

Just remeber though that downloading torrents will usually take near twice as long as HTTP. Happy downloading :)

Oh and torrent speeds are averaging around 25kB/s but can & will go up to and past 30kB/s :D

I normally download HTTP and use rapidshare with jdownloader and find it to be great but thought I would check out the torrent stuff, doing the linux download test lets see what that reports.

I have downloaded 40GB with uTorrent and DC this month, without messing with any settings (except opening port 8080). Am on a spicy account.

Just a quick note:

Not wqith DC anymore, but was with Screamer for sometime, probably still am, haven't checked yet

With Screamer, i found that when i used utorrent, nothing happened, if i used BitComet, and started downloading only ONE torrent at a time, it worked fine.

Not to sure if this will work for you

Thank heavens for SAINET. Speeds are consistent and i can browse, receive email and torrent all at the same time, even a bit of http'ing going on. Poker also works!!!
