HI

I picked up the ffg description of a digital camera

"True 5.1 mega pixel CMOS resolution (interpolates up to 12M pixels)"
I like to know what this part means please (interpolates up to 12M pixels)

[ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Genius-G-Shot-D1211-Digital-Camera/dp/B000NFZ3O0"]Amazon.co.uk: Genius G-Shot D1211 5 Mega Pixel Digital Camera: Electronics & Photo[/ame]

THanks
DD

Basically it takes a few 5MP shots and then "combines" them to give one 12mp image

If your thinking of buying, dont!. Interpolation is blasphemy in Photography circles.

Pumps up the stats while reducing image quality.

Rather Buy a cheap CANON, NIKON or PANASONIC.

Also note those camera's don't have Optical Zoom, Only Digital Zoom (basically just stretches the pixels, it doesn't really zoom)

When u buy a camera, don't be fooled by the Megapixels.. (megapixels, basically only devides what it see's into pixels)

So if what it see's isn't very clear or cannot focus correctly the image will be fuzzy or not seem as clear.

U can buy a 10megapixel Digicam weird brand , and it won't take pictures as nice as a 5megapixel Canon or Sony does.

Its all about the CCD (the sensor), and the Lens.
