Anyone here considered a digital detox?
I am currently trying to, convincingly, become 100% social ‘media’ detached. In essence, I am trying to curb participation by having a partial digital detox.
I don’t participate in mainstream social media. I am on there, and I do use it to research and have personal engagements, but I don’t actively participate in public discussion. I am at the stage to also do so with Mybroadband, limiting my participation to observation (lurking) and the odd competition.
I have more important things to do, and sometimes my attention gets carried away in this domain when it is needed elsewhere. I am also turning more robotic; people can see it in my 'type style' and this is an issue when I have to do reporting or communicate as I am unable to express my thoughts on concerning matters simply due to the inability to correctly apply my thoughts into text or words, and this has started to hinder my thought processes and execution. Weird, yes, but not all things are easily explained.
So… I have decided to go on a digital detox with exceptions to the rule.
I think it is time to set this goal, always best announced to realise, as I need to get caught up in better things until I achieve balance. No, I am not leaving, never leave the popcorn standing out cold. I still appreciate the daily 'banter' in these parts. It is only my social engagement that I want to limit.
Since I did ask a question and wish to have it answered is there anyone here who have considered or have succeeded in a digital detox and how it was ultimately achieved?
