I played the Digital Planet lotto for the second time this week and lost again.

How the DP lotto works. You order items from their website and if you are lucky you will get them or be told two days later there is no stock.

I know there are a few threads about DP but the ones that seem most relevant are locked. At least I got my stake money back which of course did not include bank charges. But thats the risk you take I guess.

So for now I wave goodbye to Digital Planet and inform them that I wont be playing their lotto ever again no matter how nice that picture on the website looks or how reasonable the prize might look.

So beware my fellow travellers. Play the DP lotto at your own peril.

Rather play the supersunbird or person guarenteed winnings lottos... :D

(I am working on getting a website up, so pm me for info, if you feel so inclined)

Yes the site said 7 days max, I received half of my stuff in 1 month, still no other half.

Only way I will buy from them again if if they set penalty fees.

5% discount per day an order arrive late. so if they late 20 days the item is free.

Their oriental plaza design website puts me off... and the fact that they did a credit check on me when i registered...(this pisses me of because most of the scredit coring models take into account the number of times you apply for credit in a year as buying from dp is cash it distorts my credit record.).

yeah DP has a lot of stuff to offer, but no indication on their web site as to if they (or the supplier) have stock of any individual item, nor they have product specifications for most stuff ... I have complained abut their web site may times, but they don't listen, not sure way!

Wonder when somebody in SA will wake up and make a proper online shopping site! Take example from BH Photo Video please! You have all the information that you need to make an informed decission right there, shipping charges for all destinations, prices, availability, proper product specifications! This is what the customers want! I don't want to phone anyone, I don't want to have to send emails! I want when I decide in the middle of the night to sit in front of my PC and shop! For all current and future online retailers, please go on a course or something and learn how to conduct business before venturing into wasting both your and your customers time!

every purchase from DP is like playing the lotto, you stand 1 : 100000000 chance of getting your product

Than goodness!

I am so glad that I saw this post! I was about to order some products from their site today! Maybe I should spend the extra R300 and buy from Computer Mania where I get it and take it home the moment I part with my hard earner cash?

I have to admit that Take-2's website is good enough for me - I have ordered games from them 3 times, and every time I got the games within the advertised time, eg if it says "3-5 working days" I got it after 4 working days. Keep in mind though that I collect. And Take2 also do clearly advertise the cost for shipping.

And experience of using Jump / PCMall (Though neither of these even lists the ADSL modem I want, ie the Billion 7202G)? Any others that are recommended?

Thank you,

_Hartz

I have to agree about Take2 ! I stopped ordering from amazon now that they stock zone 1 dvds...(if you add the vat, shipping and customs... it is not much more expensive to use them).
