Hi guys, I'm looking for a digital probe thermometer, hoping someone has one lying around they're not using. Something with a stainless steel probe I can insert into a cut of meat in the Weber (must be oven friendly probe and wire) and check the progress on a low and slow cook from the outside, without having to lift the lid. Probe doesn't have to be submersible, and the thing doesn't have to have fancy wireless capabilities and backlights and different meat settings and touch screens and so on. I can get a ton of them on BoB but they're all imports, and I'm not willing to wait 6 months.

I'm hoping someone has one they have lying around, not being used, they don't mind parting with, for around R250 or so? Last one I paid R320 for (new), but it wasn't as "waterproof" in the probe department as they said. I killed the probe during a beer wort boil, but now I know better and won't submerge the probe again. Raru couldn't source a new one though, and I'll be damned if I'm going to be paying R1k for a thermometer. I also don't want to spend too much because +shipping might get it to new prices again, so let me know, please!

Anyone has something like that?

There is of course the official Weber one which is amazing.

It costs money but maybe just spend it once off and have it for life?

Yeeeeeeeah that's exactly what I don't want to do. Two reasons:

1. Because money is toight.
2. I want to use it in more places than just the Weber. I also want to use it to check mash temps, strike water temps and brew temps when making beer. When cooking on the stovetop and in the oven and when doing anything else that requires a thermometer. The Weber one is neat, it's called the iGrill AFAIK, but I just don't Weber enough to consider that kind of money for an exclusive thermometer. I just don't.
