Digital services will be hit during banking strike: union

Um, no, it won't. Been through this in the other thread. Unless they plan on torching data centres...

Are we gonna promote or publish everything this Union says? When did we become their B!tch?

Good luck to them, South African employers, are as hard assed as they come, rarely give in. Unless 100% of people strike, it makes very little difference, as long as there are people wanting to work.

I got pressured to join our union at the airport, I said bugger off. Why they asked, I said I am quite grateful to have a job and some increase is better then no increase.

To my dismay still had to pay the union fkers R75 a month from my paycheck.Got even more pissed when I was told I can't refuse to pay. I told them I don't care about your union, and the sharing in the benefits in case of strike or whatever. All I want is to come to work, do my job and get paid appropriately.

I’d only worry about bank driven POS and ATM and then where there is an issue and not people to sort.

In view of this protest action, we request patience and understanding from taxpayers and traders

This, this is what pisses me off. As a TAXPAYER, I should not have to have patience with a bunch of terrorists/hooligans trying to hold the country at ransom.

That stuff is mostly outsourced to the hardware vendors.

I wasn't talking about the hardware ;) the terminal driving usually requires staff to occasionally do some troubleshooting. It's mostly automated but some issues require intervention, proactive or reactive teams to react in time.

But then aren't most people on strike more the customer facing types which are branch level people ? i.e. not corp it kinds.

From what I can gather it will be mostly branch type people..

Also the POS techies are also generally outsourced positions from what I've seen.

Let's wait and see how "good" these twats are. If it all goes down.... hats off! Then they are a force to be reckoned with. If not, they are just another ANC wet dream as I think they are.

Like I said - its mostly outsourced. The custodian is the only bank employee involved so really it will only be money loading and clearing that will be affected.

I'm also wondering who is actually on strike ? I doubt its the bankers... lol.

Tellers, custodians, money counters and perhaps some other low level employees.
