Digital signage setup/software

Hi guys.

I want to setup a monitor in my waiting room that will display revolving info like a powerpoint presentation as well as a TV feed in a window.

What is the best way (and cheapest) to set this up?

no good...they only quote for a min of 5 licences

I dont have any hardware yet so I can go any os.
I still cannot find a low cost software solution. Most require multiple licences.
