Need some help please. This was my setup before:
2 Batteries wired in parallel connected to a Mecer 720w inverter.
I built a digital volt meter for each battery with the following sensor:
Connected to an ESP32 board. Everything worked brilliantly and HA showed the voltage for each battery.
Then we had a power surge and it blew my inverter. I upgraded to a 1440w model, so I had to reconnect the 2 batteries in series.
When I connected my volt sensor to the battery there were sparks a zap and some smoke. The wire actually melted.
My initial thought was that the input was more than the 25v the sensor can handle, but my analog sensor shows the standard voltages as before, 13.7 floating, 14.2 charging, etc.
This whole thing does not make sense to me. If someone can please shed some light on this matter it will be appreciated as I would like to get my voltages back into HA.
Thanks!
