My bell has given up the ghost in only a year. The bell push is located about 10 meters from the bell ringer and will only activate the chime if it's close to the unit. I've changed the battery but it's made no difference. Any funding out there who can offer advice? It's in a waterproof enclosure and the button has no signs of corrosion.

Throw it away and buy a new one. Not Digitech though. Time for an upgrade.

Changed batteries in transmitter and receiver? Check for interference.

What Brand would you suggest?
Ellies makes a few, this is the better quality model they do. I sell them in my shop and this model seems to be reliable.

Are you using Duracell or similar type of battery?
I found that my doorbell only works with these more expensive batteries

Especially problematic is rechargable batteries seeing that they are only 1.2v instead of 1.5v compared to a "normal" disposable battery. I have a colleague that had a similar problem, and he did not want to believe me untill he tried it for himself.

Using one of those button Lithium jobs. The problem isn't the battery as I changed that but the range has gone to hell in a bucket. I have to hold the button right next to the receiver before it will ring.

:erm: My apologies to and thanks to all who contributed. I feel very stupid. Went to Builders WH this morning to complain, the assistant swapped out the batteries in the transmitter and guess what. The ones i had in were down on power.
Glad to say it's working again.

I went through the very same experience, thus my advice above to check the battery.
I had returned the doorbell to Builder WH, where they swapped the battery with a Duracell and it worked from the other end of the huge store!
