Dirt 2 single player saving problem

I just bought Dirt 2 and cant work out how to save my games. Cant access GFWL South Africa not supported but surely you can still play single player and save your progress? I thought GFWL just stopped you from playing multiplayer? Maybe I am missing something? A menu a setting? Help someone!

When it asks you to create a profile scroll down and and see there is the option to create a local profile on your PC. Hope that helps.
