Hi everybody. Lately I've been noticing some of my photos have some weird effect over them. I don't know how to describe it properly but it looks like the photo is dreamy and has that soft effect. It's an on and off thing and doesn't happen all the time. At first i thought it was a dirty lens (was using the 28-300) but then i also noticed similar effects on my other lenses.
here are some examples of what im seeing. Bwana mentioned to me that i have some sensor dust and i was wondering if its the dirt on the sensor giving this effect?

thanks guys

hmm, looks like a focus issue, some areas are sharp in the first one (leaf). Depth of field?
Would help if you had the exif data for the images and the mode you shoot in on the 400.

Dirt specs on the sensor normally manifest themselves on an image the same way as it dist with dust on the lens.

The second pic just looks out of focus to me.

hmm yeah the 2nd pic does look a bit out of focus but the haziness is still there and actually quite bad. The exif data is available for both photo's

Sry, overseas at the moment, I do not have a flikr accoutn so dont see any exif data, download and checked in properties, none there either.

The first one is a macro correct? They tend to give you a shallow depth of field. I also cant interpret from the EXIF what AF mode you were using at the time.

I dont think the sensor dust you have is the cause.

the first picture was taken at 1/200; f6.3; 300mm; ISO 100
im not sure if its macro but it was about 4meters above my head

second picture was: 1/1250; f6.3; 300mm ISO800
