Is there a way to disable out of bundle data on VC? ie, cap my data use when there is no active bundle?

I'm on a TopUp 315 and use data bundles as I'm a reasonably heavy data user (about 600MB over two months). Anyway, normally VC send an sms when there is about 5MB left on the bundle and again upon exhaustion, but failed to do so this month. Anyway, as you can guess the out of bundle rates chomped away my remaining airtime pretty quickly without me even knowing! Stoopid Vodacom! (I'm pretty peeved about the situation, btw)

Just be thankful you are on Top-Up. On contract you could have been in for a lot more than your available airtime balance in OOB costs.

Nope, just like there is no way to disable all WASP activity against your account.

The reason is very simple and doesn't need elaboration.

Does it by any chance have anything to do with conscience-less thieves pilfering every cent they can get their hands on?

On an unrelated point, the heading for this section is "Vodacom Broadband & Mobile Internet". I think we should petition to have it changed since ASA ruled Vodacom is not allowed using the term "broadband" to describe its current services.

ASA has now ruled that the term can be used. RPM did change it before the ruling, hence the Vodacom broadband (ADSL I presume?) and mobile internet... I guess he can change it back now to "Vodacom Broadband" :)

You are behind on the times. That was overruled.

Oops... My bad. Still doesn't change the fact that I got screwed over this month though.

In life you generally fall into one of two "categories", and (if you are lucky) you tend to migrate between a Screwer and a Screwee. When you deal with a cellphone company this doesn't apply, you are a Screwee. Accept it, and pass the Vaseline when you're done with it for the moment...

Erm??? 600mb over two months is very mild usage. (VC seems to have you brainwashed into thinking it's heavy use due to their stupid pricing). Try 2gb to 3Gb per month. (and that's still not heavy use actually :( )

This is just my on device usage.
