?.. Everytime I write a DVD (data disk), Mac insists on verifying the written data - is there anyway to disable this by default - it wastes time...!

I know I can cancel it.

I had a root around in the com.apple.DiskUtility.plist file and perhaps this might work? (YMMV)

Code:
defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility DRBurnOptionsVerifyBurn -bool no

Ooo K (no little check box somewhere that I am missing??)

Will give it a whirl after I backed up the original.

Its a pref file - you can just trash it and it will recreate itself the next time you restart disk utilities. :)

Why do you post the solution if you dont know it'll work?
I thought it was pretty clear from the get-go that it was only a possible solution
