Hi

Does anyone know what the government rebate % is for a disabled person buying a new car?

thx

Is this a normal car manufactured here, modified here, imported here, imported in modified state?

No just a regular old new car. As i understand it all import duties are wavered. So i guess it depends on the car and country it comes from

The car has to be imported and not built in SA. The disabled driver must get an ITAC form from Pretoria, and provided they tick all the boxes, they don't pay any of the import taxes.

We sell them - the saving on a Forester XS Auto, for example is R75000, and then you can still get normal discount over that, so you'd be looking at about 90k off the Forester list price.

Yip I know a few chaps in wheel chair and only the import taxes were waivered some years ago to allow for 2door sedans which were scarce here as there is more room for entry etc.
