Can't you just uninstall it, they took messaging out of the app some time ago, so it's a 100% seperate app...???

I haven't found it. You can uninstall it but then you cannot read any of the messages. I have not installed the messenger app though - and have to go to FB lite to read them. Why people persist in using it - I have no idea

I do not mind losing the messages - I just don’t want the messenger thing. Either on the phone or web version.

So how would one uninstall it?

On the web version, sign out of messenger and set yourself ss offline
