I applied for hosting and domain registration online for a client, which for some reason didn't work, I then follow up with e-mail and eventially it was sorted out, but no invoice.

I then install the messenger client and start chatting to one person who after 10 minutes disconnects without replying.

Then i get a person and see what happens:

[4:39 PM] Me: Hi
[4:42 PM] WA: Evening
[4:42 PM] Me: I just have a query with new hosting i set up
[4:44 PM] Me: It was for *-*-*.co.za, which was done today. There seems to have been something that slipped due to the online registration that failed, etc. It has been done in the mean time, but i would like to know how the invoicing works as i haven't received anything yet
[4:44 PM] Me: and if my affiliate code was loaded?
[4:46 PM] WA: hmm
[4:46 PM] WA: I can take a look
[4:46 PM] Me: please do
*** brendan went offline at 5:57 PM
[5:58 PM] Me: ?

* I changed the names

SO i'm waiting for a reply and he also disconnects on me. Bear in mind their messenger is 2 hours behind with the time

If i wanted to wait i wouldn't have used the messenger and e-mailed instead. Obviously the phone would be better, just thought i'll give the messenger a go.

Been there, experienced that, moved essential services as a result.

Interesting. I've been impressed with the promptness and on-the-ball-ness of WA service so far (but admittedly a fairly limited number of interactions).

Hi Pearljam

Our sincere apologies for the service you seemed to have experienced in regards to our messenger. Currently it is not yet entirely all that smooth running, we are working on it and hoping this will be soon a problem of the past.

If you'd like you can send me a PM and I will see to attend to your situation :)

My pet hate is when the person dealing with a query just goes home (etc) in the middle of something.

Grrr.

Although, I have never had an issue with WA - they do seem to be the most jacked. One of the largest ISPs in Africa on the other hand has the tendency to do the "duck and dive" at home time - to the point where if my request is actioned near a shift change I send emails to everyone on my list to say "best make sure Bob does not leave me hanging at shift change." - not that that helps either.

I've been very impressed with WA and won't move. The are very jacked up and I've found that they are always willing to help even at "shift change". If only all the other ISP's were on the ball like them.

Thanks, I have since been sorted out.

I have only had one bad experience with WA however I may have just been too impatient.

As I have no credit facility I have to purchase through transfer and proof of payment. On a day I did this only to find myself waiting for a long time after proof was e-mailed to have the 1Gig added to the account. It must have been about 8-10 hours and I really wanted to download a patch!!! :D

Other than that though I find that their promptness in general and good service far outweighs this one incident. For instance while helping my Father with his WA account we logged a call on WAsite on a late Sunday Evening and someone phoned us literally two minutes later  it was resolved right there and then.

I had one bad experience with WA but that was also because I was a bit impatient - must also admit that the problem lied on my side at the end...

Have been dealing with them for almost a year now and I have dealt with them on too many ocations and their service has been good - even Sunday evening at 21h00...

Call them. They are pretty prompt whenever I have a had a query or two. Seriously, phone them... :)
