Hi,
After a long fight with Telkom, I finally got my line faults improved
I now have an attenuation of 40db, and an snr of 14.5
So I thought lets give it a go and try upgrade my speed.
I am now synching at 7.8mb, which I am happy with. snr has obviously dropped, and now hovers at around 7db.
I think I can live with that.
But now when I do a speed test, I only get about 4.5mb. I know i loose on ip overhead, but that feels a bit much, no? Almost didnt seem worth the effort. This is with only my phone on the network, nothing downloading in the background etc etc
I have an unshapped, unthrottled capped axxess account, and they have confirmed they are not what is limiting me.
I tried the telkom guest account, and same results.
Is there something I am missing?
Also, how can I tell if my synch is unstable? Can I assume that if my router says my adsl has been connected for >24hrs that my line isnt loosing sync, or is there another log i can look at
Thanks!
