Dischem and a former employee have been held liable by the High Court in Pretoria after a woman fractured her hip when bumped in a shop by the employee, The Star newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Martha Maria Laurence, 74, brought the claim against Dischem and former employee Charl Pretorius after Pretorius had caused her to fall in the retailer's Hatfield, Pretoria, branch on August 19, 2009, according to the daily.

Judge Hennie de Vos, in making the order, said any person who worked in a public shop should do so in such a manner as to not endanger others.

De Vos found Laurence to be an honest person while he rejected Pretorius's version of events, stating he was not an honest witness.

Laurence had sought R850,000 in damages. The amount would be determined at a later stage.

Public shop? Didn't know we owned dischem?

Didn't know bumping someone in a shop was considered to "endanger others". Next time that ****er bumps me with a trolly at checkers, I'm suing him for a million.

I keep on getting this mental image of 'ek tune toe die tannie skuus, maar my ballie daar agter haar wou weet waar die durex was, sy nuwe vlam was in die mood vir spykerkaskenades. Toe ek weer sien toe dodge sy in my in en daar trek haar Depends. Ek sweer your honor. Sy het so stadig gestap met daai walker ek het haar net wou aanhelp.'

Dude what?

Dunno hey, worked over the holiday but get the rest of the week off after today (so it's a friday for me). Ignore most of my posts today, it's just some over tired time wasting bs till the 'weekend'
