i have this little annoying problem, for the last few weeks my ADSL has been disconnecting and then reconnecting, this happen all day. Ill be on for a hour and then it disconnects, wait 5 minutes then it will reconnect two minutes later it will disconnect again it’s the most annoying thing ever, cos when it disconnects I have no idea how long it will take before it will reconnect, it could be two minutes or the whole day. Does any one have any idea what the problem could be, or has any 1 ever experienced too. Im not sure if ist the modem or the line any ideas

i'm assuming your Router dails in. ?? meaning u don't dail in manually from your own PC??
Anywho. that sounds like Faulty line to me. (it syncs giving u adsl connection and once the SNR drops, the line drops *SNR = Signal to Noise Ratio*. For the line to be stable u need to be a certian distance from the exchange, and a high enaugh SNR to keep the line steady)
Get the telkom techies out, they can fix it :>

I used to have a similar problem, only mine used to connect after about 3 -5 seconds, I used to get over 10 disconnects a day, then last week it disconnected and didn't reconnect. I called telkom and the problem was a faulty card at the Exchange, the techie just connected my line to another port.
