Important day for Discovery Bank

Discovery Bank has reached a milestone by achieving its first normalised operating profit, swinging from a R145 million loss in the previous period to a R75 million profit for the six months ended 31 December 2025.

The bank’s latest half-year results reveal a business that is scaling rapidly, with its total client base expanding by 28% to reach 1.4 million customers.

Jumped ship from FNB to Discovery and it's been great!

I'm averaging R2500 + back each month from healthy food and healthy care items- this covers bank and vitality fees and I still walk away with plenty of miles that I can convert to cash.

I get 50% back in miles for my Woolworths (healthyfood) and Dischem (healthycare) purchases - converted to cash and paid back into my credit card.
IMO it's worth jumping through their hoops than FNB's.

You also have to do your grocery shopping in separate trips since you get penalised for buying non healthyfood items. Also only certain more expensive items count as healthyfood eg. deboned chicken vs chicken on the bone etc. etc.

Not seperate trips but seperate transactions - use my Mrs's Woolworths card and Dischem card (on my phone) for non healthy stuff
