Discovery Bank

Easy Equities launched
Capitec says that you save on brokerage feeswhen purchasing through them. Can't see the same savings mentioned with Discovery Bank.

Does it really make that much of a difference, though? I would much rather use Discovery Bank accounts and just close my Capitec acc.

I'm sure you'll have to compare it with this:

"Clients pay no transfer fees between their Discovery Bank account and their EasyEquities ZAR account, no minimum investment amounts, and no monthly trading account fees."

Not sure about any other fees. If there's an update I'll post it.

Does anyone battle to get their discovery miles for clicks spend? I feel I always get short changed. Any advice on getting the miles?

Can you transfer directly from a Discovery foreign currency account to the respective foreign currency account on EE?

Nope. It only allows me to transfer from my credit card or transaction accounts. There is no option for me to transfer funds from my USD account.

One issue with the Discovery/EE integration:

- It doesn't show how much is available in your share account when you try to buy a share.

It has a similar layout to when you are transferring funds between your own accounts. On the normal transfers screen, it shows the funds in both the from and to accounts.

Can you move the cash that sits in a Vitality Savings account to a fixed deposit? I've got it there for Diamond but would like it to earn the higher rates without losing the Diamond benefit, is that fine?

You should be able to. The main thing is that the funds are in a Discovery Bank account.

Calling people still on the FNB-powered credit card (earning 1 mile per R15 spend)... Is there any way to access the Vitality Travel site without migrating to Discovery Bank products?
The zero fees account isn't listed because you already have a Discovery Card

I couldn't find any options to do it without migrating.

Nope, the travel site is part of the Discovery Bank site and will soon (2023 probably) be available on the Bank App as well.
