I've got one of these and had it for 13 years - it's just been running and doing it's own thing and I'm paying R1,000pm

I also have FNB Life, which I assume is the same thing as the Discovery?
So I'm thinking to keep things simple, just up the FNB Life policy by R1,000 and cancel Discovery?
Or is it not as simple as that?

Silly question - but is this just 'insurance' against me passing away & there is are no funds to 'transfer' to FNB if I did the above?

Ah - I see it makes more sense to keep Discovery if you have Discovery Bank, Health etc

It’s not apples for apples.
It’s pure risk only. See if you have an integrator benefit on the Discovery classic life plan. It’s a very good plan. I’ll rather cancel FNB

It says the below - but I don't bank with Discovery or have any product aside from medical aid .

The FNB I get 40% back in eBucks, which is quite cool

Okay well you should be getting some bucks back every 5 years.
Also, the discovery life plan will pay you in the event of getting terminally ill, pay you your life cover in the meantime for you to enjoy.
Also, if you die of natural causes your family can also apply for a portion of the life fund to be paid out to cover medical expenses occurred or use it for funeral expenses with only a death certificate.
Discovery’s product has a lot of more bells and whistles and a very good life insurance product.
