It's far more than just the saved bucks from the monthly premium, you also get a fair bit of out of hospital cover.Lemme look into this - sounds like a solid plan. Anything to save a few bucks![]()
My GP's bill gives me a headache! he takes over R800 every time I consult. The R70 will be a huge relief. It's far more than just the saved bucks from the monthly premium, you also get a fair bit of out of hospital cover.
Even just the R70 unlimited doctors visits is worth it, that's saving a good R500+ per visit.
One caveat is it only applies to Doctors in the Discovery network, so you may need to move Dr if they aren't currently. My GP's bill gives me a headache! he takes over R800 every time I consult. The R70 will be a huge relief.
That GP charges for every small thing... gloves, band-aids, and even the air we breathe in his rooms. So I try to avoid going to him as much as possible. He is on the Discovery network + I'm sure he wont be happy when he sees that I have moved to a new plan for 2026. The only reason why i stuck with him is because he's generous with sick leave... but it comes at a costOne caveat is it only applies to Doctors in the Discovery network, so you may need to move Dr if they aren't currently.
Why is he charging such a high amount, around R600 seems to be the going rate these days?
