My discovery account was locked out on yesterday, so I proceeded to unlock it and create a new complex password. However this morning I get another mail from them that my account is blocked with the following message "We have noticed that your discovery.co.za account was recently accessed from a device or location that is different to your usual login device or location." I proceeded to call them and was put though to their credit card division as this is apparently where the block came from. The person I spoke to there informed me that they are unable to get into their systems at this moment as they are "locked out of their systems". This is all sounding very suspicious. I am unable to even load the discovery website at this moment. Has anyone else had a similar experience in the last day or so or is it just me? Can you load and log into the discovery site and/or did you get a similar mail from discovery?

They used the same programming house as multichoice? :p

Did you access the website via a link in the email, or by typing in the address?

Did you phone them on a number you found on the email/website, or one you had on a letter or already stored/memorised?

This whole thing sounds a lot like phishing. There have been some VERY realistic phishing emails making their way into my inbox the last two week, and for about four days now a lot of spammy stuff has been slipping past my (gmail's) spam filter.

I am in IT so am familiar with most of their tactics though they are getting really good. I only access the URL by typing it in myself and checking the certificate in situations like this. The number on the email matches up with the one on the discovery website that I called.

Same thing.. well the email saying account attempt x5 with unknown/anormal location. So as did the usual go to site directly than via email link etc but from what i can tell this is a valid email from Discovery.

Another odd thing, but then if you know Discovery then this is the norm is that after changing pwd, Vitality & Health portals do not seem to work. I can only see via portal dashboard. I suspect this is because their products use to be silo'd and so change of pwd is likely still getting processed or transferred/propagated across the system. But yah.. very strange and wondering if they were hacked

Maybe it's being hacked to reverse everyone's vitality points and gym memberships.
